Since 1996, Home Works has enabled more than 38,000 youth and adult volunteers to repair the homes of more than 2,600 elderly, disabled or veteran homeowners across SC-NC-GA. Forty percent of these homes are in and around Columbia, SC. Volunteers include youth and adults, skilled and unskilled, from a variety of faith backgrounds and organizations. Repairs are done at no cost to homeowners and are funded by hundreds of individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors. Home Works is also a United Way agency. Repairs are often done in collaboration with city and county governments.
Home Works group goes out of the county to Peru and Haiti in the summertime.
